🔴 Jupiter offshore buoy already reading 8.9 ft at 9 sec this morning, up from 1.6 ft yesterday. The swell has arrived early in the north. Fort Lauderdale and south still manageable this morning but building.

Conditions Headline

Two different stories on the water right now. Jupiter offshore buoy 41114 jumped from 1.6 ft yesterday afternoon to 8.9 ft at 9 sec this morning. The swell has arrived early in the north. But south of Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale offshore buoy 41122 is reading 3.3 ft at 5 sec and nearshore NOAA says around 2 ft this morning. Lake Worth pier winds ESE at 8 kt gusting 12 kt. The south coast is still manageable this morning but conditions will build through the day.

NOAA AMZ650 issued this morning: SE 5 kt this morning becoming N then NE through the day. Nearshore seas around 2 ft south of Palm Beach. Tonight NE 20-25 kt increasing to 25-30 kt after midnight with offshore seas building to 4-6 ft occasionally 8 ft. Monday E 25-30 kt with offshore seas 8-11 ft building to 9-13 ft occasionally 17 ft. AMZ651 Deerfield to Miami: Monday E 20-25 kt gusting 30 kt, offshore 5-7 ft building to 6-9 ft occasionally 11 ft.

Yesterday was exceptional. Narcosis ran two trips in Palm Beach. Morning at North Doubles and Drifting Spot: 60 ft viz, 76 F, moderate N current. They saw a hammerhead shark, bull shark, nurse shark, Goliath grouper, and eels. Afternoon at Larry and Gary and Divaroma: 70-80 ft viz, 75 F, zero current. Loggerhead turtle, morays, tropical fish. Rainbow Reef confirmed Benwood Wreck in Key Largo at 40 ft viz, 1 ft seas, no current.

Sombrero Key in the Keys is reading ENE 13 kt gusting 17 kt this morning. Keys conditions are already elevated and building. Captain Hook's confirmed Looe Key at 40 ft viz yesterday, Coffins Patch at 30 ft with greenish water.

BHB morning high tide was 6:23 AM, already passed. Evening high is 6:45 PM with NE winds expected to build through the afternoon.
