🔴 Small Craft Advisory in effect through late tonight. Seas 4-6 ft, occasionally 8 ft, Jupiter to Key Largo. Stay inshore. High rip current risk Palm Beach County beaches.
⚠️ Major event this weekend. Sunday forecast: NE 25-30 kt, seas 8-11 ft, occasionally 14 ft, building to 9-13 ft, occasionally 17 ft in the afternoon. Do not plan any offshore activity Sunday. Cancel or reschedule now.
Conditions Headline
The front that arrived Tuesday night has fully pushed through. Buoy 41114 offshore Jupiter is reading 5.9 ft at 11 sec this morning and climbing. Fort Lauderdale buoy at 2.6 ft, also building. NOAA has a Small Craft Advisory through late tonight with seas 4-6 ft, occasionally 8 ft from Jupiter to Key Largo. Winds are lighter inshore, only 4 kt at Lake Worth pier, but the offshore swell is real and conditions on exposed reef and offshore sites are rough.
BHB is protected and still diveable today. High tide 2:10 PM, rated excellent by iDiveFlorida. Window 1:25 PM to 2:55 PM. Inshore and ICW water activities are fine. The roughness is offshore and on exposed Atlantic-facing sites.
Before you plan the weekend, read this carefully. Thursday conditions ease to 3-5 ft. Friday drops to 2-3 ft. Saturday morning looks okay at 2-3 ft but Saturday night NE winds build to 20-25 kt with seas climbing fast. By Sunday morning we are looking at 8-11 ft, occasionally 14 ft, and Sunday afternoon the forecast calls for 9-13 ft, occasionally 17 ft. That is a rare and dangerous sea state. Anyone with boats, dive charters, or offshore fishing plans Sunday needs to cancel now.

Daily Safety Tip
Sunday is not a beach day, a boat day, or a dive day
Sunday's forecast calls for NE 25-30 kt and seas building to 9-13 ft, occasionally 17 ft. To put that in context, 17 ft seas are rare and dangerous even for large vessels. Rip currents will be extreme on all Atlantic beaches. No recreational diving or boating should happen offshore Sunday. If you have a charter, trip, or plan booked for Sunday, contact your operator now and reschedule. Do not wait until Saturday night to make that call. Never go out alone and always file a float plan.
